Break – 12.40pm to 1pm

(light refreshments will be served but please feel free to bring a snack)

Part II – 1pm to 2.15pm

Part II is facilitated by Hunt Museum staff, often in collaboration with local artists. It provides participants with opportunities to experience the wellbeing benefits of hands-on creativity. Art activities are always inspired by objects and artworks in the Hunt Museum Collection. A new art activity is developed for every session. Participants are encouraged to experiment and enjoy the process of making art rather than focusing on the final outcome.

Creative Activities:

Monday, 12 June

The creative activity in Part II of this session will be cyanotype printing which harnesses the power of the sun to create simple but beautiful blue prints.

During it participants will make special light sensitive paper. They will then explore specific objects with interesting shapes from the Collection and will recreate these as small cardboard cut-outs. Using these, they will create a unique composition on the paper. They will then place the latter in the sun or under a strong artificial light to expose, allowing the cyanotype magic to happen.

Socially engaged artist, Chelsea Canavan, will lead this creative arts session. She has more than 12 years of experience in facilitating participatory arts with  individuals and groups, helping them to explore their creative voice and to make art on themes such as belonging, spaces for inclusivity.
