Creativity for Wellbeing 2025

The Hunt Museum and Midwest ARIES are delighted to announce the return of this programme.

Session Format and Activities

As before, each session will consist of two parts:

Part I is facilitated by Midwest ARIES and uses group discussion to help participants to develop a wider understanding of what creativity is and how it benefits personal wellbeing. Facilitators will help participants to find simple ways to weave creativity into their everyday lives.

Venue for Part I is the Hunt Museum, Captains’ Room, on Floor 1. The content of Part 1 is repeated every time a session is delivered.

Break – 12.40pm to 1pm (light refreshments will be served but please feel free to bring a snack)

Part II is facilitated by Hunt Museum staff, often in collaboration with local artists. It provides participants with opportunities to experience the wellbeing benefits of hands-on creativity. Art activities are always inspired by objects and artworks in the Hunt Museum Collection. A new art activity is developed for every session. Participants are encouraged to experiment and enjoy the process of making art rather than focusing on the final outcome.

Important Information to know:

  • 15 is the maximum number of places in each session
  • It is essential to book session places through Midwest ARIES.
  • The Part 1 session format and content does not change from session to session
  • Participants are expected to participate in both parts of each session
  • Light refreshments will be served during a short 20 minute break but please feel free to bring a drink and a sandwich with you
  • Please do not wear your best clothing. You might get paint or other art materials on them.
  • If you book a place and cannot use it, please contact Midwest ARIES and they will reallocate it to another participant
